Andrew Weiss is a 'Digital Services Librarian' at CSU Northridge in Los Angeles, California.  His work is primarily concerned with institutional repository development, scholarly communications and open access initiatives. His research involves examining Massive Digital Libraries (MDLs) such as Google Books, HathiTrust, Internet Archive, and DPLA. In addition to a number of articles and book chapters, he is the author of Using Massive Digital Libraries: A LITA Guide (2014) and most recently Big Data Shocks (2018), a work that explores big data and its impact on libraries and librarians. He holds an MLISc from the University of Hawaii at Manoa (2008) and an M.A. in English literature from Temple University.
