LaVentra E. Danquah is a medical librarian at Wayne State University, Shiffman Medical Library with over fifteen years of experience­ connecting people to life-changing, time-saving information. Danquah manages instruction and outreach services setting priorities and spearheading programs for library users. Her community programs have been featured during National Medical Librarian’s Month and highlighted as models of exemplary community programming by the Medical Library Association and the National Network of Libraries of Medicine. She co-authored her experiences in a publication titled; Librarians Roles as Educators in Promoting Library Resources to Multicultural Patrons While Advancing a National Health Initiative. Danquah received her BA from the University of Michigan and her MIS and MLIS from Wayne State University. She presents frequently at national conferences and has developed continuing education programs for multinational library associations. When Danquah is not connecting people to information she be can found enjoying a good read near the waterfront.
