Elaine Lasda holds the rank of Associate Librarian at the Dewey Graduate Library, University at Albany, State University of New York. She is the primary point person on citation searching, bibliometrics, and altmetrics for the University at Albany Libraries, and works closely with other Dewey staff on scholarly communications and open access issues. In her day to day activities, Ms. Lasda is also responsible for maintaining the Social Welfare, Gerontology and Dewey Reference collections. With a long record of library service, Ms. Lasda currently serves as the Past Chair of the Academic Division of the Special Libraries Association and as a Councilor-at-Large of the New York Library Association. She is also a founding member of the SLA Data Caucus. She is the 2015 recipient of the State University of New York President’s and Chancellor’s Excellence in Librarianship Awards. She holds a master’s level Certificate of Advanced Study in Data Science from Syracuse University, an M.L.S. from the University at Albany, and a B.A. in History from SUNY College at Oswego.
