There’s a form of empathy that’s more suited to the product development and user experience environment. This workshop introduces this form of empathy and explores how to develop empathy with the people your organization seeks to support. It covers definitions of different types of empathy and uses in your work; warning signs when you need to spend time gathering deep understanding; listening sessions and how these are different than user interviews; setting a scope of research for a study; ways to practice and adapt this mindset to your own work; demonstrations and exercises.
