Denise Lyons is currently the Deputy Director of the South Carolina State Library where she has been since 2008. Her areas of specialty include strategic planning, communications, management, emergency planning, and family literacy. She has a MS in Public Services Management and Nonprofit Administration from DePaul University in Chicago, and a MLIS from the University of South Carolina. Denise is active in the Public Library Association, having been a PLA Leadership Fellow in 2010, IFLA’s Evidence for Global and Disaster Health Special Interest Group and Health and Biosciences section, and serves on two committees of the Association for Library Services to Children.
