Eddy Hamelin is the Branch Manager at the Carmel Valley Branch Library which is part of the 15-branch Monterey County Free Libraries system. With the help of his small team, he creates and develops community-based programs, family-oriented Makerspace fairs and special events, and teen robotic classes. The branch has turned into a major community hub as evidenced by the Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Program had over 300 attendees. Coming from academia, he promotes life-long learning for his patrons as well as his staff.
Eddy Hamelin received his MLIS from San Jose State in May 2015 and is a member of the American Library Association, the Association of Small and Rural Libraries, and the California Library Association. He is a 50+ resident of the Monterey Peninsula and an amateur military historian with a special interest in the history of the former Fort Ord US Army base.
